Actor Dhandapani Dies Of Cardiac Arrest !!!
Tamil actor Dhandapani, popular for his roles in films such as Kaadhala and Englishkaran, died in Chennai on Sunday due to cardiac arrest, family sources said.
"My deepest condolences to friend and colleague who worked with me yesterday Kaadhal Dhandapani has left this world to the heavenly abode RIP," Sarath Kumar posted on his Twitter account.
According to actor R. Sarath Kumar, Dhandapani was shooting with him on Saturday for upcoming film Sandamarutham.
Having earned appreciation for his villainous role in Kaadhal, Dhandapani earned the moniker Kaadhal to his name.
He has also acted in popular films such as Chithiram Pesuthadi, Muni, Krishna and Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam.

VIP – first day box office collections !!!
Dhanush starrer Velaiyilla Pattathari took a massive opening yesterday all across the globe. The collections in all the centres have been satisfactory for the producers, say sources in the trade.
We hear that in Chennai city alone the movie has grossed around 96 lakhs for the first day. All the theatres in the city had 100 percent occupancy as predicted and the film is well on its way to being declared a smash hit!
VIP, directed by Velraj, stars Dhanush, Amala Paul, Saranya, Samuthirakani, Vivek and others. Anirudh has scored the music for this movie.

Kaththi without Ilayathalapathy !!!
The shoot for Kaththi is currently happening in Chennai, as reported earlier. This schedule apparently doesn’t require the presence of Vijay and the team is shooting the sequences involving other supporting actors, we hear.
As for as Ilayathalapathy, he has a schedule pending in Chennai, which will span for 10 or 15 days. Meanwhile, the team is looking to wrap things up (including foreign song sequences) by the end of August, so that they’ll have time for post-production before releasing it on the Diwali day.
Starring Vijay, Samantha, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Satish and others, the film is a Murugadoss directorial, with George C William’s cinematography and Anirudh’s scores.

Actor Arun Vijay has been struggling to cement his place in Kollywood but his Thadaiyara Thaakka performed very well at the box office and now his career is at an all time high as he plays the baddie in Thala Ajith's Sathya(tentative title) directed by Gautham Menon.

The makers of Surya's Anjaan had earlier announced that the film's audio launch will happen in a grand manner on 22nd of July to celebrate Surya's birthday which falls on 23rd July. Dhananjayan Govind announced that the audio launch would take place at Chennai Trade Centre and Kamal Haasan,Puneet Rajkumar would be chief guest for the launch.

Thala Impresses both the Second Generations of Superstar & Ulaganayagan !!!
The Thala of Kollywood has apparently impressed both the second generations of Superstar and Ulaganayagan. It's known that Soundarya Rajinikanth in a recent interview named Ajith as the one actor she would like to act with and added that she admired Thala a lot and said "I admire Ajith sir a lot, he is someone I look up too and i love to learn with him and share his vision."

Neil Nitin Mukesh who rose to fame with Johnny Gaddar said "For ‘Kaththi’, I’ve gone back to the days of ‘Johnny Gaddar’, which is an inspiration for my look in the film, I shed about 10 and a half kg for ‘Kaththi’ and reduced about four and half inches on the waist. I wanted the puffiness of the face to go down, so that I could look leaner and sharper."
Talking about his character in Kaththi, Neil said “It’s not a typical villain role you see in the south (southern film industry). I play an extremely polished character, a north Indian who speaks Tamil, well read and foreign-returned. As a villain, I don’t fight the hero with physical power, but with intelligence,This is a very challenging role and I wanted to push myself to the edge for it. To try and speak the language, learn the expressions and understand what I was saying, I had to learn Tamil. Ai team to release a video of Vikram’s lifestyle regimen !!!
Vikram's weight gain and loss for his upcoming film with director Shankar, titled Ai, has been the topic of interest for those in the film industry for quite some time. Now, reliable sources say that the unit is to release a video made using shots that were filmed during Vikram's weight gain and loss programme for the film.
This video, they say, will be used by the team to spearhead the film's promotional campaign. If one is to go by what sources say, Vikram had to weigh just 50kg for scenes in the first half and around 110kg for those in the second.
A source close to the film unit says, "A beefed-up Vikram will be seen in the second half of the film. There are no graphics involved. To prove this point, the team has decided to showcase his hardwork. So, they filmed every move of Vikram's weight loss and gain programme. They are now planning to use these shots and release it in the form of a video in which Vikram will be seen sweating it out in the gym. The video will also give details of his diet plan and his lifestyle during the period he worked out. This video, which will be released a month before the film hits screens, will be the main promotional strategy.

When the industry and Ajith fans are riding high on 'Thala 55', our beloved Thala is said to ride a Bullet in the untitled Gautham Vasudev Menon project which is under production. Possible sights of the most righteous man in the industry throttling the most royal among bikes can be mistaken for a normal biker around the ECR circles.
Ajith's love and affinity for bikes go back to his mechanic days. He knows what happens when the clutch is released and he knows this eternal feeling of riding a bike like Bullet (made like a gun). Still with the annoyingly long waiting periods, bullet enthusiasts wait for the day to sit on the mean machine. Royal Enfield sales are bound to skyrocket after the movie's release.
From Paramasivan to Mankatha to Arrambam, Ajith was seen riding some high-powered super bikes. But 'Thala 55' will have the racer galloping on one of the most sophisticated engineering marvels, with green skins and plated 8136. Gautham's visual imagery should position both the bike and Ajith at par.

''Gautham Menon taught me to do nothing'' - Samantha !!!
Samantha never loses a chance to thank director Gautham Menon for making her career. It was Gautham's Ye Maaya Chesave, the Telugu version of STR – Trisha starrer Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, that catapulted her to fame.
In a recent interview, she talked about how Gautham had taught her feel comfortable even when she did not have lines to deliver. She said, “We are always taught to act in front of the camera. We are never told how important it is sometimes to do nothing and yet, appear natural. I notice many actors who are uncomfortable doing nothing. Gautham taught me to be comfortable even if I didn’t have a single line in a long scene.”
It is to be noted that Samantha was seen in Gautham Menon's Neethane En Ponvasantham, that had Jiiva playing the male lead.

Fans Surya's Anjaan and Vijay's Kaththi have set the internet on fire, Facebook and Twitter are all absolutely flooded the news and images from the above two movies. Now the latest is that Surya has outdone Ilayathalapathy in this race for Social network domination.Surya's Anjaan teaser which was released just 5 days ago now has 1,883,267 views while Ilayathalapathy's Kaththi's motion poster which was released 2 weeks ago has only 1,534,260 views. It may be inappropriate to compare an teaser with an digital poster but Surya fans are literally killing the like button on Youtube.
Kochadaiiyaan crosses the mark quietly !!!
It’s been 50 days since the monstrous release of Kochadaiiyaan, India’s first ever photorealistic Motion Capture film, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone. The film, directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, is still running in a number of theaters in Tamil Nadu.
As far as Chennai, the film is being screened at Baby Albert, Robot Bala Abirami, PVR Multiplex, Studio 5 and few other theaters.
Also starring Sarath Kumar, Shobana, Rukmini Vijaykumar, Jackie Shroff, Aadhi and Nasser, the film is an AR Rahman musical, produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment Limited.
We wish the team well and hope to see more such new attempts in the future.

Thirumanam Enum Nikkah's D-Day has finally arrived !!!
After many delays and controversies, Thirumanam Enum Nikkah (TEN), starring Jai and Nazriya is releasing on the 24th of July, 2014 to cash in on the festive Ramzan mood. The movie, which is directed by debutante, Anis, is apparently a romantic comedy set in rich wedding backdrops.
Ghibran is the music director for the movie and the songs have already become a smashing hit. The movie will have many newcomers acting in it, including Heebah Patel, Dinesh and Deekshitha Manikkam to name a few.
TEN's cinematography is done by Loganathan and editing is by Kasi Viswanathan. The movie is produced by Aascar Ravichandran.
'Thala 56' - The buzz begins !!!
Ajith generally repeats his directors if he is really impressed with their work. Directors like Vishnuvardhan and Saran have worked on multiple films with Thala and have also met with success invariably. Now, the director of Veeram, Siva is also in this 'repeat' league as reported earlier and he would be helming 'Thala 56'.
The shooting of this film would begin in November this year, after Ajith completes 'Thala 55' (by Gautham). He is also reportedly expected to undergo a surgery before he starts work on 'Thala 56'.
Other details related to the cast and crew are being worked out and the production house is expected to make things official in the coming months. Stay tuned

Dhanush, Rafael Nadal and the FIFA World Cup 2014!
Words need not be said about what a brilliant actor Dhanush is. However, not many know that he is a great follower of sports as well.
When the sensational Rafael Nadal won his 9th French Open title recently in Paris, the National Award Winning Actor, in his official twitter page, tweeted, “VAMOS RAFAAAAA ... Nothing makes me happy like nadal winning a grand slam :)”
He also has been following the World Cup Football tournament that is happening in Brazil. When asked to pick his favorite teams, in a recent interview, he said, “My heart says Brazil, but my mind says Germany.”
Dhanush's connection with football ends not just here. It is to be noted that Amitabh Bachchan recently said, “For some reason I get the feeling that super star Dhanush from the South and Neymar, Brasil, have a resemblance !!”
Vijay retains the top spot yet again in his stronghold !!!
Ilayathalapathy Vijay is known to enjoy a fabulous following and market share in the UK. Even his average films go on to do good business there. In the first half of the year, Vijay had Jilla to his credit and as expected, it has emerged as the number 1 grosser in the UK, among all Tamil movies released in the first 6 months of 2014.

SUPERSTAR - This title is the most coveted and the most aspired for by actors in the Tamil film industry. The title adorns the one and only Rajinikanth now but there are various discussions and speculations as to which hero would qualify for this much popular title in the present generation of actors.
In a recent award function when Ilayathalapathy Vijay was posed a question as to which title he would prefer- the ILAYATHALAPATHY or the SUPERSTAR, the Nanban hero stated, “I am quite happy with Ilayathalapathy. A milestone unites Mankatha and Suriya's Masss !!!
The upcoming Suriya - Venkat Prabhu film has been titled 'Masss' as reported already. It was earlier touted to be titled 'Poochandi' but 'Masss' is the latest mantra for the team and also for the scores of Suriya fans.
The shoot of the film will begin in the 2nd week of July. An interesting aspect of this film is that it would be editor Praveen KL's 50th film. Praveen has been a constant in all of Venkat Prabhu's films till date and it is fitting that his landmark movie is again set to be with Venkat Prabhu.
Venkat Prabhu's earlier films have already turned out to be important milestones for the likes of Thala Ajith (Mankatha being his 50th) and Yuvan (Biriyani being his 100th). Now Praveen also joins this select league.
Masss also has the likes of Nayanthara, Amy Jackson in the cast, with Yuvan, Praveen and R.D.Rajasekhar forming the main technical crew.

Will Shankar accept Ilayathalapathy Vijay's request?
Ilayathalapathy Vijay and blockbuster director Shankar have already associated on the successful Nanban in 2012. Though the movie was far-removed from Shankar's usual template of hero-centric films, Nanban was a good change for Vijay and the movie was lapped up by his fans and the family audiences.
Yesterday at an awards function, which was graced by both these personalities, Vijay put forward a request to Shankar that they should work together again in the director's typical 'larger than life' template. He capped his request with his famous 'I am waiting' punchline.
Though he was supposed to work in the director's path-breaking Mudhalvan but later missed the film, Vijay feels that Indian is his favorite Shankar movie.

Venkat Prabhu must have taken the requests from fans a bit tooliterally to coin a 'mass' title for his upcoming outing with Suriya. The popular director, in his usually nonchalant tongue in cheek sense of humour, has announced that the film will be called 'Masss' - A Venkat Prabhu Title.Interestingly the idea doesnt appear to be a random selection as VP also revealed that Suriya will be "in and as" Masss, indicating that there might be a character connect with the title after all.

Shruti Haasan is a talented artist who dabbles successfully across various film industries. She was last seen in Tamil in 7aum Arivu and 3, and is currently working in Hari’s Poojai with Vishal.
In Telugu, Shruti is considered a lucky mascot after having delivered hit after hit, in the form of Gabbar Singh, Balupu and the recent Race Gurram.

Vijay Antony will be Saleem on July 25th !!!
It is the era of everybody turning into everybody. When directors got busy turning actors for their movies when heroes refused to go off formulas, Vijay Antony with his successful Naan proved, full time music directors can also be protagonists.
After an illusory teaser, Salim's team are working round the clock to have a July 25th release. N.V. Nirmal Kumar, Bharathiraja's associate directs this action thriller. Vijay Antony plays a role of a doctor in this movie while Aksha Pardasany plays his fiancée in the movie.
Since the movie required Vijay Antony to perform some dare devil stunts,he understood the necessity and underwent rigorous training in Taekwondo for a period of two months.
The shoot of the first schedule of the film was in Chennai in June 2013. It is also said that the movie is getting ready for a simultaneous release in three different languages (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) We wish the team for a dream run at box office.
