Anjaan audio launch on July 17 !!!
Jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Thirupathi Brothers, Anjaan is directed by Lingusamy and has Samantha Ruth Prabhu sharing screen space with Surya for the first time. The expectations are skyrocketing already thanks to the the timely promotional activities from the makers. The audio launch for the film is scheduled on July 17th and the details about the venue and chief guests are expected today evening. The official first-look teaser of the film will be unveiled in Vijay Awards on July 5th and will be available on YouTube the same night by 10 PM. Madhan Karky’s opening song ‘Bang Bang Bang’ is highly anticipated by Surya’s ardent fans. Anjaan also marks Yuvan’s first big film this year. Vanavarayan Vallavarayan, his sole album to have released this year received lukewarm response from music buffs and his fans are eagerly waiting for Anjaan to provide the much-needed breakthrough for Yuvan.

Director Pandiraj is directing a film titled Idhu Namma Aalu. After a long time Simbhuand Nayanthara are joining hands in this film. The final works connected with the film are going on. The trailer of the film is yet to be released. At this juncture, director Pandiraj has shown the trailer of Idhu Namma Aalu to Surya, Arya, Sasikumar, Santhanamand Suseenthiran. They have appreciated Pandiraj very much. Moreover Nayanthara who had also seen the trailer has appreciated Pandiraj by saying that she is thankful to the director for giving her such a good film. Nayanthara has donned the role called Myla. Pandiraj has mentioned that Simbhu’s role is called Shiva. Simbhu’s brother Kuralarasanis composing the music while Balasubramaniam is handling the camera.

Director Suseenthiran is busy with his upcoming film ‘Jeeva’ where Vishnu Vishal and Sridivya are playing lead roles. This film is based on cricket and it stars. Now, latest we heard is that Suseenthiran has roped in Arya to play cameo role in this film which is said to be crucial. Kamal Hassan Furious at Santhanam ???
If reports are to believed, Comedy Superstar Santhanam has managed to irk Kamal Haasan. The buzz is that Kamal Haasan was the chief guest at the audio launch of Santhanam's Valeba Raja but Santa himself wasn't present at the audio launch and this hasn't gone done well with Kamal Haasan.
What makes it even more intresting is that Santhanam invited Kamal Haasan in person to attend the launch this makes it even more rude that Santhanam went missing at the launch. Sources say the reason for Santa's absence was only because he was busy shooting for Superstar's Lingaa in Hyderabad.

Ace Director A.R.Murugadoss in a recent interview revealed how awestruck Vijay was with the Kaththi story. The duo who already given an monster hit in Thupakki have reunited for Kaththi which will be the Biggest film of Vijay's career.
Now in a recent interview A.R.Murugadoss revealed that soon after narrating the entire Kaththi story to Vijay he got a text message from him which read "SUPERNA". What makes it even more intresting is that A.R.M revealed that he did not get such a response even while narrating the story of Thupakki.

Powerstar is Superstar !!!
Kida Poosari Magudi. As the title, meaning deity, suggests, it is a period film. Music is directed by Maestro Ilayaraja, and comprises of 5 songs. Reportedly, the maverick composer had accepted the offer only after watching 80% of the footage.
The film is beeing shot at the Cuddalore district. The very pulling factor of the movie is that Powerstar Srinivasan plays an important character, something like Rajini's role of a barber in the Mahendran directed cult hit Johnny.
After a hiatus, Powerstar takes the Superstar route? 75 days of the shoot is already done, and just 20 more to go to finish the movie and proceed to post production.
With a bunch of newcomers in the lead, the film also has Singampuli, Perasiriyar Ramasamy, Sevvazhai Rasu and Bonda Mani enacting important roles.
Directed by Debutant Jayakumar J, the film introduces actors Tamizh, Ramdev and Natchathira as the leads. Produced by Thamizhmani under the banner, Tamizh Thirai Virutcham, Kida Poosari Magudi talks about love from a different perspective.
Will Jigarthanda have a Friday release?
Jigarthanda's audio launch happened 3 months ago, but the film is yet to see a Friday release. What is stopping the film from being commercially screened to the Tamil audience? There has essentially been a dispute between the film's censorship and the director's creative freedom.
SMC Pictures Kathiresan had an impressive run with Polladhavan and Aadukalam but had to go through a financial crisis with Naiyaandi last year. He hopes to recoup now and all his hopes are pinned around the box office prospects of Jigarthanda, which would have been bolstered if the film had obtained a clean U certificate (the film now carries a U/A).
Jigarthanda was actually not promised to be a U film, as it focuses on gangster rivalry in and around Madurai. The director had been clear on making a generously violent film during the pre-production stages itself, but he did make some appropriate changes to the content during the filming, to suit the mainstream crowd.

Anjaan look for Thala 55 !!!
We’d earlier reported that Arun Vijay was going through a slight makeover change for the upcoming Gautham Menon- Ajith project. A recent photo of him that is being circulated now on various social networks has revealed his look for Thala 55. He will carry a look similar to that of Anjaan Suriya.
Although Thala Ajith’s one look has been revealed, the second look is still kept a secret. Gautham Menon recently hinted that the other look will stun his fans.
Anushka and Trisha have been roped in for the film and Harris Jeyaraj is working on the music. Dan Macarthur is handling the camera

While he is currently working on his second film with Vijay, fans are still waiting for his second with Ajith. When he was recently asked if he was ready to do a film which had both Thala and Thalapathy in the lead, this is what he had to say
"Doing a film with both Ajith and Vijay together, won't be that easy. But if they accept to do such a film, I am ready to direct. I can come up with an appropriate story which suits them in just about 2 months' time. Their coming together would be truly huge for Tamil cinema"

Gokul Sai Ramnath's Vaaliba Raja had the talk of the industry coming down for the audio release. He assisted Cinematographer-Director K.V.Anand during his early days.
K.V.Anand says, "Directors are bifurcated either by the Bharathiraja school or Balachander school. But we, P.C.Sir's assistants claim ourselves to be from Kamal's school. With a list of astounding films to his credit, I would like to date back my experiences from the Thevar Magan shooting days. There was a shot requiring 3000 odd junior artists, but the production executives could find only about 1000. We, the cinematography team with P.C.Sreeram sir were going bonkers to probably use a Tele lens and cheat the crowd.

We earlier reported that the teaser of Suriya – Samantha starrer Anjaan will release on July 5th. From what we hear, from sources close to the team, the teaser will be of one minute duration and will be stylish, grand and entertaining.

The director is known all around the country and commands a huge fan following on his own. He invariably associates with big superstars and all his movie releases turn out to be events in themselves. In a recent interview, the director spoke in detail about Kaththi and Ilayathalapathy Vijay
"The title Kaththi will be justified and will be relevant to the story. We didn't just casually name the movie.
Vijay plays dual roles in the movie - Kathiresan and Jeevanantham. They aren't a father-son pair. Samantha plays a lively character named Ankita.
The movie is majorly set in Chennai and isn't a gangster flick as speculated. After a complete story narration to Vijay, he messaged me "Superna". I didn't get such a reaction from him even during Thuppakki. Kaththi is surely a different attempt for Vijay."
After Vijay, Who Does A.R. Murugadoss Want To Direct ???
A.R.Murugadoss who is currently directing Ilayathalapathy in Kaththi was earlier rumored to direct Thala Ajith next for a film titled Thala. But the rumors faded away after an official announcement that A.R.M's next was a straight Bollywood film withSonakshi Sinha.
Now in a recent interview to leading magazine, A.R.M revealed that he met Thala three times after Thupakki and also has complete script ready for him anytime and if Ajith is ready he will kickstart the film by Next month. A.R.M also talked about Directing Ajith & Vijay in a single movie saying "It is not an easy task, but if they areready I will write a script within two months and it will undoubtedly be the biggest project in Tamil cinema".
AR Murugadoss also added that in future he wanted direct movies starring Dhanush, Siva Karthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathy.

The most challenging, creatively compelling department of film making is the lyric writing. Thamizh Padam fame C.S.Amudhan takes the 'song writer' avatar after the less known "Maddy Maddy" track from Minnale, for which he penned the song in English for Harris Jayaraj. K.V. Anand was overwhelmed by C.S. Amudhan's tweets on dry irony. In Anegan, he has come up with a song going like this, "Podhumda Saamy, Nine to Five Porattam, Kaanjupona Chedikku, Thevai Neraiya Neerottam"
Amudhan says, "I've never written a full fledged Tamil song running to pallavi and charanam considering a situation. This was a wholesome experience. Writing for a meter was never a problem, since I was exposed to poetry in my teens and my father himself a music director, I thoroughly enjoyed this journey of writing a song for Anegan. These days, lot of IT people chill at Pondicherry for weekends. This song is along similar lines, focussing on youngsters who like to have fun."
'Vaaranam Aayiram' Suriya and 'Paruthiveeran' Karthi !!!
The audio launch of Karthi starrer Madras, directed by Ranjith of Attakathi fame, happened yesterday. The audio was launched by actor Sivakumar and was received by Suriya. Karthi, the heroine of the movie Catherine Tresa, the music director Santhosh Narayanan, and the director Ranjith were seen in the occasion.
Yesterday, Suriya and Karthi appeared at the event in what should be their makeovers for their respective next movies. Suriya, with a four day beard and trimmed hair, looked all set for his next movie with Venkat Prabhu - Poochandi. 6 years have passed since Vaaranam Aayiram happened but Suriya looked as charming and young as he was in that popular Gautham movie.
And, Karthi’s imperial type moustache might be a possible look for his next movie Komban, directed by Muthaiah. His unkempt looks remind us of his Paruthiveeran days.

The first look posters and teaser of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Kaththi were released as a birthday special on June 22, to all the hardcore fans of the star. Ever since their release, they have been the talk of the town, with the internet particularly buzzing with myriad feedback and opinions.
Given Vijay's huge pull in the social media, the teaser of Kaththi has already crossed the magical half million mark in YouTube and after just 2 days, it has registered 546,457 hits with more than 13100 likes.

150 Crore Mark for Surya's Anjaan !!!
Surya's Anjaan much expected Trailer will be out on 5th July, But the latest buzz onthe film is that the makers are expecting the film to be the first Tamil movie to gross 150 crores worldwide in Year 2014. Director Linguswamy after rather disappointing outing in Vettai has worked 2 years to bring this film to life, Actor Surya was alsocommitted to the film to the extent that he did not sign nor act in any-other film until it's completion.
The Film is reportdely being made at a budget of 70 crores and the film will simultaneously release in both Tamil and Telugu. Linguswamy was also very confident in saying that this film would do for Surya what Billa and Thuppakki did for Ajith and Vijay.

Vijay will once again be playing dual roles! Sources are rife with the news that in Chimbu Devan’s untitled film, which is expected to start rolling from September this year, Vijay will be essaying dual roles as father and son. The father character will be paired up with yesteryear heroin Sri Devi, say sources. For this role, Vijay will have to put on some weight to look like a 50-year-old guy and he will be working on it soon after AR Murugadoss’s Kaththi is wrapped up. The younger Vijay will be pairing up with Shruti Haasan, add sources.

“Save the film industry” – writes Vijay to PM
Actor Vijay has apparently taken the initiative of writing to the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi about a major issue the film Industry has been facing lately. The actor started his letter by wishing the Prime Minister on his mission to make the nation a super power.
Addressing the issue, the actor voiced, “Cinema is not only a medium that entertains masses but also generates massive revenue for the Government. But the sad part is that the industry is facing a lot of problems lately and despite the efforts of many, the attempt to revive the industry seems futile. Many theaters are turning into marriage halls and shopping malls.”

Ilayathalapathy Vijay and the composer for his 58th movie (directed by Chimbudevan), Devi Sri Prasad met recently. The actor unveiled the promo song of the musician’s US/Canada musical tour. Vijay was totally amazed by the efforts, DSP has put in for the promo song and wished him all the best.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay Declared The Next Superstar !!!
The popular Tamil Weekly Kumudam recently conducted a poll to decide the NextSuperstar of Kollywood, There were 8 contenders Vijay, Ajith, Surya, Vikram, STR, Dhanush, Arya and Jiiva. After a mammoth 35 Lakh Votes were registered through website, Postal and through their magazines Ilayathalapathy Vijay was declared theNext Superstar.
Vijay captured the first place bagging 12,80,300 votes, While Thala Ajith came in second with 12,17,650. Surya was a distant third with 5,47,050 votes. Dhanush secured Fourth while Vikram came 5th and STR, Arya and Jiiva secured 6th,7th and 8th position respectively.
Kamal Hassan Title For Siva Karthikeyan !
Siva Karthikeyan plays the role of Police Officer in the film and the film was reportedly titled Taana. Now the latest is that the film could undergo a title change. According to reports the film will now be titled after Kamal Haasan's famous cop film Kaakki Sattai.
The film is directed by Durai Senthilkumar who earlier directed Siva Karthikeyan's Ethir Neechal.
